Место Назначения

Most of the time when we travel, we have to pay a charge to discover something new. However, you may enjoy it for free in some places. Do you want to know what you can do in Tbilisi for free? In this post, you will learn about fun activities that you can do without spending any money and have a great time doing in town. Take a peek and let us know what you think.

1. Chronicle of Georgia

It is one of Tbilisi’s most prominent tourist attractions. The monument was created in 1985 by the shore in Tbilisi. The monument is located at the top of a long flight of stairs. The 16 pillars range in height from 30-35 meters, with the upper half depicting kings, queens, and heroes and the lower half depicting stories from Christ’s life. In the summer, it is a perfect place to go with family, friends, or even alone to get some fresh air, appreciate the spectacular views, and swim in the Tbilisi sea. So, using a cab will just cost you a few laris (Gel).

2.Old Tbilisi

Old Tbilisi is the city’s primary attraction and where visitors spend most of their time. It is nicknamed Old Tbilisi because it is the town’s oldest village, and genuine Tbilisi history began there when King Vakhtang Gorgasali discovered sulfur springs and christened the city of Tbilisi. Historical cathedrals, wine stores, cafés, and gorgeous architecture will be a pleasant experience to try, and Legvtakhevi waterfall is also an amazing spot to visit to explore nature and take photos for social media.

3.Visit famous churches

Georgia is an Eastern Orthodox country, and churches play an essential role in their daily life. There are several churches in Tbilisi that you may visit to learn more about Georgian culture.
There are historic churches with breathtaking beauty, history, and ornate interiors. I recommend that you go to Sioni Cathedral, which was established in the 6th and 7th centuries and then rebuilt in the 17th and 19th centuries. St. Nino’s cross and a miracle stone of grace brought from Jerusalem by St. David of Gareja can be found here. Holy Trinity Cathedral, the world’s third-tallest Eastern Orthodox cathedral, was built between 1995 and 2004. It combines traditional antique and contemporary architecture.

4.Relax in the parks

Tbilisi is a very green city with parks on practically every corner where you can rest and relax. I can recommend a couple of the more popular parks, so you may pick and choose.
Mtatsminda Park is first on my list since it is located on top of Mount Mtatsminda at 770 meters in elevation, overlooking the Georgian capital Tbilisi, and it also provides a variety of activities that you will like. You may use the funicular or the cable car to get there. Rike Park is a popular destination for both local and foreign visitors, especially during the summer. The park includes a climbing wall, a children’s labyrinth, a mega-chess board, a cable car, and the iconic Bridge Of Peace. Vake Park is a picturesque park with restaurants, cafe-bars, an open-air theatre, and a cable car (which connects the park to Turtle Lake).

5.Visit the Dry Bridge

It’s a flea market where you can find almost anything: medals, flags, pins, caps, and antiques. It is open around the clock. As a result, you can find it intriguing to go there and buy products you enjoy at reasonable costs.

6.Lisi lake

It’s a wonderful place to unwind and appreciate nature. Walking and cycling trails (3 kilometers), open-air cafe-bars, children’s amusement and sports entertainment areas, and a climbing wall for youngsters are all available surrounding the lake. There are various facilities on-site where you may hire a bicycle. There is also a beach near the lake where you may sunbathe or have a picnic in the woods.
